I wouldn’t be so categorical as the website of World First about the price of holidays in Corsica. It is true that certain places in Corsica are expensive, and yes especially in the south. But it’s like every holiday destination, you have some expensive areas with lots of luxurious hotels and accomodations, but in Corsica you have a lot of camping sites especially not so close to the sea inside the mainland.

According to a poll from IFOP, 89% of Corsicans do not want the independence from France. It is a surprise because it has been for years that the Corsicans nationalists made a lot of noice to separate Corsica and France.

Unfortunately, the XL.com collapse has an effect on the flight from UK to Corsica, they were on the 3 provider of direct flights from UK airports and Corsica. I hope that another company (maybe Ryanair) will take the vaccant place…

See the report of a poor Corsican tourist who wanted to fly back from Corsica to UK with supposedly XL.com

Corsica
One of the Mediterranean’s most accessible yet least-known islands, with some of its best beaches and most beautiful mountain scenery, Corsica is an increasingly popular destination, whether you’re travelling with one of the specialist companies listed in the book or completely independently. Walking trails, detailed town write-ups and fully up-to-date hotel and restaurant listings are complemented by frequent nuggets of insight to make this the essential guidebook choice.
